We are seeking a Senior COBOL Programmer to join a leading steel manufacturing client in East Chicago, IN.
This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position, requiring 5 days on-site each week.
In this role, you will support critical Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications and subsystems, including Production Recording, Mechanical Test Management, and Electronic Data Interchange. Key responsibilities include analyzing, designing, programming, testing, and problem-solving to maintain and enhance the company's applications.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL/JES3
- Strong SDLC and custom development experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity with incident tracking and change management software
Nice to Have:
- ADABAS/Natural for Windows experience
- SAS, C#/VB/.NET, Power BI knowledge
- Manufacturing industry background
